Description:

Manage the accounting aspects of grants and contracts awarded to the organization, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

Coordinate the annual audit of the organization's financial statements, working with external auditors to ensure that all accounting practices are in compliance with applicable standards.

Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws, and work with external counsel as needed.

Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.

Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure that all transactions are properly documented and recorded.

Monitor cash flow and manage bank accounts to ensure that the organization has sufficient funds to meet its operational needs.

Prepare financial reports and statements for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and requirements.

Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.

Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.

Ensuring that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.

Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders.

Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed.

Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry

Work experience in the health and medical industry will be given preference.
