Description: Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop safety policies to minimize risks, outline safety procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance with federal occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
• Implement safety plans, and respond to emergencies.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations to review company practices and devise processes to address the impact of a company's practices on the environment.
• To detail accidents and safety issues within an occupational setting.
• To work with managers, OSHA representatives, and other personnel to investigate incidents, offer solutions, and follow up to ensure that the issue leading to the incident has been addressed and corrected.
• Lead safety audits to identify possible hazards and address potential accidents.
• Work to resolve issues revealed by these audits and cooperate with OSHA inspectors to do so.
• Lead safety training programs for employees. Explain health and safety laws and regulations, detail safety procedures, discuss preventative strategies, and address employee concerns.

• Ensuring that the required procedures and processes for Health, Safety & Environment System are established to implement & maintained, in accordance with the requirements of OHSAS 18001 & ISO-14001.
• To plan and arrange the training of various levels of the work force (including contract workers) according to the needs of various departments, with an objective to increase safety consciousness in employees & zero incidents.
• Co-ordinate with all concerned departments for correct implementation of the procedures as per OHSAS /EMS standards (PTW / Risk Assessments / basic Safety Awareness, Safe Crane Operations, Annual Environment Reviews).
• Maintain a log book by entering all activities regarding accidents /incidents occurring on the premises on a daily basis to ensure proper record keeping which will facilitate reference checking in the future.
• Conduct risk assessment in consultation with departmental Managers by visiting the production floors /SITE & identification of hazards in the work process & formulate plans to counter such hazards.

Skills:

• To possess strong skills in areas of word processing, presentation applications like PowerPoint, and various programs such as incident reporting and environmental management software.
• A thorough understanding of electrical safety, equipment lockout, machine safeguarding, and industrial machinery operations.
• Team building, estimating, and scheduling are top project management skills.
• Producing clear and concise reports, leading training classes, and speaking with federal officials such as inspectors and auditors calls for strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to spot potential hazards, identify safety concerns, and recognize practices that could harm the environment.
